Measuring Instructions

For SUITS, FORMALS or DAY COATS/JODS please obtain all of  the following measurements.

For ACADEMY, we will only need:

Nape to Waist (for back length of vest)
Inseam crotch to floor

BUST: Around the largest part of the chest. Do NOT use your bra size. The number should be a tad larger than your bra size, as the bra size number is your chest size under the bust.

WAIST: Around the waist at the belly button. For children also include size of street pants.

SHOULDER: Draw an imaginary line from armpit up to top of shoulder, start there, go to nape of neck (big bone at bottom of neck) and over to imaginary line above other armpit. Or on current fitting suit, from shoulder/sleeve seam, up to bottom edge of collar at middle back seam and down to other shoulder/sleeve seam.

SLEEVE: From edge of shoulder bone at arm  down to where thumb meets hand.

NECK: For a neat appearance in the ring, measure your neck circumference.  The collar of the shirt should fit snug, yet comfortable with no gapping.

NAPE TO WAIST: Measure from  nape of neck to  natural waist.

COAT LENGTH: From nape of neck down to bend in knee.

INSEAM: Crotch to floor (you will want jods 3" longer than that but you MUST let me know if you have already added 3" or not as I will automatically add 3" if you don't tell me)

SEAT: Around largest part of rear.

THIGH: Around upper thigh.

CALF: Around largest part of calf.

HEAD: use a cloth tape measure or string that you can then measure on yardstick and measure the widest part of your head where your hat will sit. You can then Google for hat size charts on line or send me the inches measurement.
